Making The Year Book!

It's a really long story that, amongst all things, includes:
a dilemma
two passionate students (one more so than the other)
a bitchy principal
a good willed teacher
a year book
and quite alot of thievery xD
lmao, just kidding about the last one (Book Thief reference ;P)
but yeah our dumbass kraut principal (sorry I dont mean to be offensive) decides she doesnt want a year book for such reasons that really are pity. So a friend of mine, my teacher and another student's parent decide to take matters into their own hands with it and they had it to the point where the yearbook would be in colour and would be ready before the grad trip for only $15 (which was less than last year) THEY HAD IT! and all they needed was a simple yes. no money, no time.
And they received a no.
Disgusted, I decided to take it on myself.
If i didnt do it through the school, I could go on with it. So thats what I'm doing. Along with the original guy who started it, we're making the yearbook! I mean, whats the principal gonna do? suspend us? on the second last week of school? for doing what? making a yearbook that we receive absolutely no profits from?
exactly.
this is totally unlike me but I figured it was time I did something that would surprise people. I'm more than just a music loving introvert.

Grounded

Yeaaaahhhhh. So, as you can tell, I got grounded. It's quite ironic because I used to get banned from electronics and now I just get grounded from the outside xD But I am beyond screwed at the moment. I mean, things look so bad xD I'll explain:
So yesterday, I was out with my friends and hanging out at one of their houses after words. Now this happens to be my boyfriends house. I was supposed to go home at 8:00. I wasnt looking at the time, I was looking out the window instead to judge the time. Obviously, since it's slowly turning into summer, that really threw me off. By the time I got around to checking the time, it was 9:10! So, (because my parents are paranoid) I'm not aloud to walk home after dark. So I had to call my mom to pick me up.
That did not go well.
For a lack of better words, she was pissed.
After we got home, the parentals gave me the lecture but I managed to shorten my grounding and all was pretty good. Then I noticed my wallet wasnt in my pocket and I must've forgotten it at my boyfriends house.
So, this morning he calls to tell me he found it but my mom picks up the phone. Just as I run into the room, I hear their conversation.
Bf: I found her wallet. I'll give it to her on Monday.
Mom: where was it?
Bf: under the bed
Mom: O.o under the what?
I KNOW it looks bad but it really isnt what it seems like xD Let me explain. While we were downstairs, throwing skittles at each other and making crued remarks while watching Braveheart (hey, we can be mature when we want!) one of my friends got the idea to make a really big lego tower then knock it down. So we went upstairs cuz he had lego in his room but we ended up playing Call Of Duty instead xD I got a little bored after a while so I went under the bed and found a bunch of lego. I spent the rest of the night under the bed and tickling my boyfriends legs with lego men xD
So thats what I tried telling my mother (only i left the leg tickling out! xD) and well...she doesnt believe me xD I told you it sounds bad! So I'm grounded till this Friday. And that is the end of this post ;D

Why The Book Thief Should Become A Movie

Because I want to see Liesel kiss Rudy's dead lips in the rubble of a tarnished and destroyed Himmel Street.

Well maybe thats just one of the reasons. I've been reading The Book Thief since March and I finished it just this week (if I had more time to read, I would've finished it sooner). It's such a poignant and moving story, I will admit that I literally shed a few tears at the end. Mainly because of the multiple times Rudy had asked Liesel for a kiss towards the beginning and she'd tease him, saying no, yet towards the end, she really did want to kiss him but never brought up the nerve. There were two scenes in particular that she had the urge. My favourite one:

I wrote a fan fiction called Kiss Him, Liesel, Kiss Him which is a continuation from this scene. Instead of Liesel helping Rudy off the floor...something else happens ;P But I also wrote a free style poem about them. I dont know what it is, they just seem like two people who were torn apart by death while secretly in love who, I think, should've kissed before Rudy died. I mean, the ending could make anyone cry. I dont mean to be a spoiler but this is what happens:
Liesel is writing in the basement when there is an air raid and the sirens fail to sound and EVERYONE including Liesel's parents, her neighbours and Rudy and everyone on her street die from the bombs. The rescuers find her in the rubble of her house, she was saved since she was in the basement. She then discovers that everyone is dead, she finds Rudy in the rubble (Rudy is her best friend, neighbour and its obvious that by now -the books goes on for about 4 years- she's fallen in love with him as he's always been in love with her but they never mentioned it, the closest they came was Rudy asking her for a kiss. So...it's incredibly sad, this is what happens when she finds him: She cries:
"Rudy, wake up…wake up, Rudy. Rudy, please. Rudy, please, wake up. Damn it, wake up. I love you. Come on, Rudy, Come on, Jesse Owens, don’t you know I love you, wake up,wake up,wake up…”
Yes :( and then she kisses his dead body in the rubble.
You know, it kills me how sad it is and it just kills me how the author didnt make them kiss at the times that they should've, but then again, the ending wouldn't of been so romantic if they'd already of kissed.
ANYWAY, i did read that the rights for the book to become a movie are in the process but heres the thing: they better not choose someone ugly (arent I nice?) or annoying to play Liesel. I almost always hate female characters because they always seem annoying to me but I actually liked Liesel. and they better choose someone perfect for Rudy or else my imagination will be ruined along with his character.
Its kinda like The Outsiders, but i think they chose perfect casting for the roles. But if they did make a movie out  of The Book Thief, theres one thing I know that would really piss me off. Often, characters in movies will have different features than the characters in the books. Like one in the book will have blue eyes and the one in the movie will have green eyes. In The Book Thief, Rudy's lemon coloured hair is a HUGE part of his character, his hair colour is mentioned probably twenty times in the book.It would piss me off so much if the Rudy in the move
HAD
BROWN
HAIR.
With that being said, my fingers are really tired and your eyes are probably tired too. If you havent read The Book Thief, I suggest you do, its beautiful.

What'd You Expect Me To Do?

So, I was taking a bike ride today as I like to do when it gets hot and it got up to 90*F today so I went out. Also, I got that new bike I was telling you guys about so it was fun after having the same bike for 7 years xP
So I went all around my neighbour hood and up into others. I actually went up this huge ass hill which just wiped me right out. I went for around an hour and then went again at nigh after we set off fireworks in the park for Victoria Day!
On my day time ride, one street was pretty busy so I took the side walk. While I was riding on the side walk, I ran over someone's water hose and they yelled at me to watch where I was going. In real life, I just went on riding but in my head, I wanted to skid my bike to a stop, turn back at her and say (profanity alert) "Honestly, bitch? It was on the fucking sidewalk. What'd you expect me to do, stop and lift up the fucking bike?" xD
Yep,so thats all I've got to say. OH I went to see The Avengers on friday night with friends for the second time xD it was that amazing.I mean, I'd pay to see Captain America twice ;D
you know, I actually heard they're making a second Captain America. Lucky for me ;P

Putting On A Production

So I dont know if I told you guys but since October, I've been involved in our school musical which was High School Musical (yeah its not the best play but it was fun) and just this week was the production! Now, I've never really been in a play. Sure I've been in the average class skit but this play was so amazing! We did productions Tuesday during school, Wednesday night and Thursday night! There was one main set at the back of the stage that was painted to be a gym then the stage actually went out a little into the audience and there were two risers, one to the left and to the right. One had a set that was painted to be some lockers and the other was painted to look like a class room and then you could turn it into a rooftop garden. Now, in the play, I had two characters. I played Coach Bolton (yeah i know its a dude. So what, i just put my hair under a hat) and also a skater when we did Stick To The Status Quo. So i had to change backstage inbetween scenes behind the main set because there were nails sticking out of the wood at the back (it was supported by wooden planks) that we hung our costumes on with hangers.
Anway, I'm a little sad now cuz it's all over. I never knew how much fun a play could be :)

Yeah thats supposed to be Coach Bolton from the movie xD The audience was probably like "woah coch bolton sounds like a girl"xD cuz I had to yell alot for my lines. Thank God I'm Greek xD

Aaaaand those are the skaters xP
i wish I had photos of our actual performances. I do have a photo of me as Coach Bolton but its on my ipod. Oh well.

Gotta Love C.Thomas Howell

I dont mean to sound immature here but...yum :3

Honestly, I dont want to sound like a fan girl here but seriously........YUM! haha, This guy right here is C.Thomas Howell, on what looks like, the set of A Tiger's Tale. Which, if you ask me, is more like A COUGAR'S Tale but I still watched it two times through xP So, here he's about 21 which is 1987, one year after The Hitcher was filmed and four years after The Outsiders was filmed. Which is quite ironic, considering he was supposed to be 14 in The Outsiders (people say he was 16 when he filmed it but I did some research, and since he was born in December of '66, he'd still only be 15 when he filmed The Outsiders which is only one year older than Ponyboy, his character. And that means he was only 19 when he filmed The Hitcher, not 20 and he was probably around 21 when he filmed A Tiger's Tale or, possibly, still 20.) God, I DO sound like a fan girl! xD But it's all in good fun, dont worry. I'm not going to turn into one of those crazed Justin Bieber type fans who go crazy and bake a cake for his freakin birthday and decorate their walls with his face and go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and ON!
About how much they love him.
But, I will confess, I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally like C.Thomas Howell xD I've seen 6 of his movies (The Outsiders, Soul Man, The Hitcher, A Tiger's Tale, Red Dawn, and That Night) {I would've watched Grandview USA but I REALLY hate Jamie Lee Curtis who is in it and also, I saw a scene of it on youtube which mentally scarred me for life} and I've seen his appearances on ER and Criminal Minds and this one tv show from the late 70's or early 80's when he was just 12 or 13, i forget what its called. Its a family-type show that only ran for a couple episodes but it was sweet.
ANYWAY, I'm babbling and I know it. I've probably flooded your mind, with all things C.Thomas Howell, but hey, you gotta love 'im ;)

MineCraft

If you've been reading my posts for a while now, you'll know that I'm not big on video games. I used to be, a while back but they were games like Mario and such games for the DSi. And, in the present, the only video games I really play are Rockband and some game apps on my ipod.
So I got quite a shock when I got MineCraft on the weekend. I'd heard people talking about it so I decided to get it but, honselty, it doesnt make any sense! I tried to get my friends to help me but all they did was kill sheep xD But seriously, its just a bunch of blocks and your supposed to build something. But HOW? I need help xD anyway, If anyone knows how to play it, please help me xD Or i might just get help from my video game obsessed friend. He wasnt at school today so I had to settle for my other friends but tomorrow, I swear,he's helping me play MineCraft!

Happy Easter!

Yeah, it's a day late but whatever, Happy Easter!!!
Sooooooo, I hope everyone had a good four day weekend, I enjoyed the time off. I spent my time writing alot but y'know, it was fun. It always is, I can always entertain myself by writing. So, for Easter, I visited my grandma and step grandpa, went pretty well. The weather was pretty good so we sat outside for a while and road some of our bikes around. Since I've had my bike for about 7 years, I've been thinking on getting a new one. I was looking around and I saw one, I loved the style alot. Mostly cuz I have a retro soul but its cool either way ;)

It looks kinda like this one but the tires are a bit wider and its silver and white, not red. I wont be buying that one though because of the price but I'd like to get one that looks like that. Haha, man, i was definitely born in the wrong decade xD

Last Day Of March

Yes, it came very fast. Not sure what to say about it though. March wasn't an overly great month, there was some struggles. I'd say spring break was the only outstanding event. But March has always been sort of a down month for me, I have no idea why. For the past 3 or 4 years now, March has been a dull month, one that alot of unpleasant events take place in. Mostly with friends and school. It's funny how I remember things from 4 years ago so clearly. School year of 2008/2009 was a very memorable one I guess. thats when I moved back to my old school. Like, I went to the same school from JK until grade 3, then I went to this other school for grade 4. But I couldnt go again the next year because they cancelled the bus and the school was two cities away. So then I had to move back to my old school for grade 5. And I guess I remember alot of that year because I made all of these new friends and there was ALOT of drama with them. I mean, when you're hanging out with three guys and a two girls, there shouldn't be that much drama! But there was. ANYWAY, that was kinda a depressing year. Cuz do you ever look back on your past and think "Wow, I was so stupid" ?

Unbalanced?

I'm at a point in my life right now where everything is unbalanced. While life at home is thriving, relationships with friends are slightly cruel, my romantic life/interest is pretty much dead, my writing has taken off through the ceiling,  my studies have gone somewhat down hill and my freedom is limited. But sometimes, i just feel utterly stupid because of the people I associate myself with.

Back To The Books

Sooooo, spring break is over, very sad, yes I know. But it hasnt been so bad this week. In fact, our teacher (our new one. Did i tell you my other one left?) played a movie for us today called Hotel Rwanda. I'd explain it to you but its really hard to do so if the subject of two tribes in Africa in 1994 trying to wipe each other out interests you, look up Hotel Rwanda. Its really touchy.
Also, lately, i dont know if i've told you but i've been writing ALOT. In fact, i started another novel called Dont Call Me Daddy. A plot will be given in the future, i'm still developing the story line.
And i think thats it for me, i dont really have much else to say. Other than, its been SUPER hot here the past couple days, almost like summer.

FINALLY!

So my laptop has been without Internet for 6 months and just a few days ago, i got it fixed! WOO HOO! so i though i'd share that. Also, i have this nasty cold on spring break woo hoo which sucks. like head ache, burning throat, stuffed nose, the works. i've been bedridden for about 4 days now, today was the first day i was able to get out and about. I went to the park with some friends and you wouldn't believe how warm it was! I took off my sweater and my jacket which i put on a bench which i later regretted cuz someone tied their Rottweiler dog to that bench. needless i had to wait for an hour to get my jackets cuz trust me, i was NOT going anywhere near that thing!
ANYWHO, i also made a fanfiction account (its a site where you can write stories using characters from movies, books, ect) called Retro Soul. I think i told you guys that already but I've posted some stuff now. If you do check out my stories on there: word to the wise, DO NOT read Smoke In The Dark. its horrible, i messed up terribly. I sudgest you read my Take A Ride On The Wilde Side. It's a crossover between The Outsiders and The Hitcher, only i posted it under normal and just under The Outsiders cuz no one wouldve seen it the other way.So yeah, thats all. Reviews on fanfic are appriciated!

Spring Break Woo Hoo!

FINALLY, school's out for spring break! i was getting tired of those goofs! ahaha xD
So this post isnt really about anything in particular, just to waste my time, and now yours.
Most of the break, I'll be writing, trying to finish a book i've been writing for about a month called Grease Bird. I'll be reading alot too, i went to the library this week and picked up three books cuz i thought i'd be without but then today, my teacher (we got a new one by the way. my old ones on maternity leave, thank God. i love my new teacher) gives me this huge-ass book called The Book Thief and ohmygod, its freakin AMAZING, BRO! its like 700 pages and so far its pretty good. its about the holocaust and i like the idea that Death narrates it. at first i was like "hold up, why does this guy take souls?" and then i read some more and i was like "ohhhhhh". lol xD
I guess since theres nothing left to do, i'll update you on my new favourites.
Book: The Outsiders
Movie: Soul Man along with The Hitcher
Song: My Sharona by The Knack (i think?)
T.V show: used to be Friends but i just cant get into it anymore. Ever since i watched the outsiders, its kinda like 'these people have no respect for life'. i know not everything can be drama but more lately, i've been more into drama, mystery, thriller movies/books.
Celebrity: C.Thomas Howell -I'm serious. Tommy Howell + 1980's movies = 90 photos of him saved on my ipod, i kid you not, this guy looks like a freakin angel xD

Enough of me fan girling. BY THE WAY, tonight i created a Fan Fiction account (they wont let me post anything yet cuz im supposedly 'new' but i'll tell you when i do post something so you can look it up). by the time you read this, i might have something up. my pen name is Retro Soul.

So thats all. did you ever notice that the guy from the knack who sings My Sharona kinda looks like a young Chevy Chase?

The Hitcher

There is only one phrase to describe this film and i'm im gonna go with HOLY SMOKES!!!!
The Hitcher is THE best movie i have even seen, i swear, when i finished watching it for the first time i was in such awe that i couldnt speak. The way it captures your attention and makes you want to watch it over and over is amazing.
The Hitcher is a 1986 horror film starring C.Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer.
A young man, on his way to California, picks up a hitch hiker who turns out to be a murderer. After throwing the killer out of his car, the young man thinks everything is over but its the just the beggining. He is stalked for days, the hitcher framing him for his crimes and turning his life into living hell.
Despite it being called horror, i wouldn't exactly say so. While most horror films focus on the gore, this one focuses more on how the killer torments the young man mentally. Not physically.
The scene that gets me the most is when he first picks up the hitcher and he realises he's a killer. The killer (John Ryder) starts running the blade across the young man's (Jim Hasely) face. Jim asks him what he wants, John replies "I want you to stop me". After threatening him for somewhile, Jim says "Please...I'll do anything". John replies with "say four words". Jim is eger to get rid of John until he finds out john wants him to say "I want to die". "I dont know if i can say think" Jim says. "Sure you can. Repeat after me" John tells him and gets Jim to repeat the words. They're at "to" when Jim realizes John's door isnt fully closed and can be opened without pushing the handle. Instead of repeating the word "die" Jim yells "I DONT WANT TO DIE!" and pushes John out of the car.
Its a truely amazing scene, i've seen it like 50 times since i watched it the first time last week xD
ALSO, since i watched this movie, i've had a new respect for C.Thomas Howell, he's a wonderful, talented actor and i think he just might be my new favourite.

You Aint Gonna Believe This!

do you remember that poem i posted back in November called I Raise My Hat? I dont know if i told you or not but, i entered that poem into a Legion writing contest. SO a couple months passed and i figured i didnt win like the last two years i entered. But little did i know...today at school, we had an assembly and some people from our school had won the legion contest (theres 1st 2nd and 3rd). i actually came in late this morning, i come and everyone's coming out of the gym cuz it just finished and theyre like "you won! you won!" and im like "what did i win?" and their like "you got second place in the legion contest!" so then i kinda freaked out and did a little happy dance right in the middle of the hall xD
But yeah, they gave me a certificate and they framed it, they gave me $20 and a pin!! i'm sooo happy.
ALSO i'm walking up to the plaza tomorrow with Haley, Adam, Martin and Brock so i'll tell you how that goes, some funny stuff is probably GO DOWN (it always does with those guys) so i'll keep you posted.
ALSO i made a new youtube that imma use for just ranting and making funny videos. I've posted 4 so far, my channels called TheGreaseBird and you'll know its me cuz my icon is a photo of a 50's girl drinkin tea. THAT IS ALL!

Finally!

So you guys know i write, yes? Well, if not, now you know. I've been writing books, short stories and poems for about 3 years. In total I've started 15 books. Thats alot once you think about it. I could never seem to finish them. I never knew why but recently, i discovered why:no plot. Characters that are hard to relate to. and the fact that i had no idea what was going to happen. and that i'd drag on and on. finally, about three weeks ago, i started writing a book called If I Wasnt Me. it had a good plot, good characters (in other books, i'd have too many and it'd get confusing) and at about chapter 6, i knew how it was going to end. Needless to say, i finished If I Wasnt Me with 120 pages and 18 chapters. Its a romantic/sci fi. The plot? Johnny Caze had been in love with his best friend, Poppy Regardo, since 6th grade. In 9th grade, his other best friend, Richard Seniter, started going out with her which causes a secret rivalry between them. Now this wacky thing has happened that has caused them to switch bodies. They have no idea how they got themselves into this and no idea how to get out. In the mean time, Johnny will finally see what its like to be Poppy's boyfriend. But he isnt even himself.
Now, you have no idea how proud i am of myself. its so rewarding that after 15 books, to actually finish one.

Pity The Backseat

Often, I'll read something that will amaze me. It could be a paragraph, a chapter or even just a sentence. Well, amaze might be a little off from what I'm trying to describe. More like it jumps out at me and i might think its clever or i might like the way its worded. In this case its a about a paragraph but the one sentence is what i love particularly, from my favourite book, The Outsiders. This is straight from the book.
"Listen, greasers, we got four more of us in the back seat...".
"Then pity the back seat" Two-Bit said to the sky.
"If you're looking for a fight..."
Two-Bit cocked an eyebrow, but it only made him look more cool. "You mean if I'm looking for a good jumping, you outnumber us, so you'll give it to us? Well..." He snatched up an empty bottle, busted off the end, and gave it to me, then reached in his back pocket and flipped out his
switchblade. "Try it, pal."
The line "pity the back seat" is what really jumped out at me. I'm not entirely sure why. I think its a bold line and shows that he's ready to fight.
All credit goes to S.E.Hinton for the writing.

Guy Friends Are Great

I'm a girl. And I dont really hang with alot of girls. Well, not anymore. From grade 1-4 I didnt have very many friends and then I went to a new school in grade 5 and made alot of friends. Two of them were girls and 3 of them were guys. After that year i guess we just got tired of each other because in 6th grade we separated. I went with my other girl friends and the guys went off with themselves. In 6th grade I had more friends but only 4 really close ones-girl friends. Then in 7th grade my friendship circle narrowed and I wasnt very social. I only really had  4 girl friends and we were all really close. But the thing with that (it was last year) was we were always bitching about each other. Talking behind each other's backs and ALWAYS getting into hissy fights over the smallest things! Granted it was usually one girl who started it all the time but still...it got really annoying. But when this year started, i had to face the whole "being in a class with no friends" factor, i had to become more social and make new friends. Which I did. I have to say,I have alot of friends. I talk to mostly everyone. But the main thing different this year from last year is my close friends. My best friend is a girl, Haley, which i think is only right. I mean, shes SO nice and we get each other and we're really close. We've been best friends for 3 years. Then I have this other girl friend I'm not exactly close to but she was one of my close friends from last year. But the remainder of my friends are guys! And at breaks and stuff I hang with Haley, Adam, Martin and JR. And what I've noticed is...I dont have friendship fights or hissy fits anymore because i hang with guys and honestly, guys dont really give a shit so it works out great anyhow! I mean, they dont take insults seriously, they are way more passive and they're just really nice. And its not like a dude is gonna bitch about you behind your back. Maybe if you really bother him but these guys are my friends. I also have other guy friends like Josh, Kyle and Connor. And mind you, I do have other girl friends i just dont hang out with them too much. Factor being = too much drama! I had enough of that last year. All in all, I'm glad guys dont gossip about you or get jealous cuz you have bigger boobs than them :)

The Outsiders

About a month ago, my friend gave me this book called The Outsiders. Plot? It's the 1960's. There are greasers and socs. In a small town in Tulsa, Ponyboy Curtis's gang is the greasers- his brothers Darry Curtis and Sodapop Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, Steve Randle is Soda's best friend, Dally Winston is the tough guy and Two-Bit Matthews the wise crack. The gang is like a family and sticks together no matter what until one night when Ponyboy and Johnny meet these Soc girls at the movies, their boyfriends get mad and later that night confront them at the park. The one soc, Bob, tries to drown Pony in the fountain but Johnny stabs him and accidentally kills him. They turn to Dally for help and he tells them to hide up in an old church. After Pony and Johnny spend about 4 days there, Dally comes and takes them to Dairy Queen to eat something. They return to the church to get their stuff when Johnny decides to turn himself in but right before they leave, the old church catches on fire -one of their ciggs werent put out right- and there were a group of kids who had ran in there while they were gone. So Pony and Johnny run in there and try to save the kids, in the process, Johnny gets very badly burned and just as Ponyboy gets out, the church collapses on Johnny. They take him in to the hospital and he has sever burns. When Pony returns home that night, the socs and greasers had planned a rumble for the next day (a rumble is a fight). After alot of fighting the next night, and Steve's broken ribs, the greasers win the rumble. But soon later, Johnny's burns are so bad and his lungs have so much debris in them that he dies in the hospital. Everyone is devastated. Not long after that, Dally cant stand the pain of Johnny being gone and lets himself get shot and killed. Ponyboy's life is never the same after that. His school grades go down,he and his brothers fight alot and its like he lives in a small bubble, confined from the world around him. Until his language teacher makes him write about something significant and he writes down this story. The end. Its a very moving book. I almost cry everytime i read the part that Johnny is about to die and tells Ponyboy "stay golden, Ponyboy...stay golden". There's also a movie to it that i want to watch really badly. It was made in 1983 (the book was written in 1967). C.Thomas Howell plays Ponyboy Curtis,  Ralph Maccio plays Johnny Cade, Matt Dillon plays Dally Winston, Rob Lowe plays Sodapop Curtis, Patrick Swayze plays Darry Curtis, Emilio Estevez plays Two-Bit Matthews, and Tom Cruise plays Steve Randle. I love the outsiders. Pictures? I think so!
